TrekMunk has a variety of trekking expeditions and tour packages to suit your needs and preferences. We have a dedicated team of experienced and well-informed trekkers and guides who are ever ready to help you, accompany you, and take you to your desired destinations without any hassles.

The Salnai Lashnai Trek is brought to you by our team that has crafted a well-thought itinerary for the same. The trek begins from the Naranag village of the Ganderbal district that is situated approximately 50 km away from the Sheikh-Ul-Alam International airport in Srinagar. As soon as you open your arms at the airport, you will be welcomed by our hospitable team members. You will then be escorted to the vehicles that will drive you to the campsite at Naranag village. It takes about 2 hours of drive from the airport to reach this valley that lies at an altitude of 7450 ft approximately.

Narang is not just famous for serving as a base camp for many alpine lake treks but is also famous for the ruins of ancient temples that continue to remain significantly valuable for many believers of Lord Shiva even today. On your way towards the village, you can indulge in sightseeing and admire the state of Kashmir for its natural beauty, freshness, and simplicity. After reaching the campsite, as you place your foot in this holy valley, a sense of calmness shall subtly overwhelm you since Naranag is a village nestled away from the grip of commercialization; it sits quietly amidst giant mountain ranges and has a very limited population. You can stroll around the village for a while, indulge in communicating with the locals to get a crisp idea of the lives in the mountains, watch animals graze the fresh grasses, and or rest after the long drive to wash off the tiredness.

After a while, you will proceed towards the Dhumail meadow. It will be an hour-long easy trek. You will pass through pine forests, many local hilly houses, and little streams, all along with beautiful landscapes. The river wangat will accompany you all the way to the Dhumail meadow that is known for the beautiful species of birds and fishes that have been housing there forever. You can indulge in various activities, including bird watching, trout fishing, etc. This will bring the first day of your trip to an end where you will camp in the Dhumail meadow for the night stay.

On the second day, you will begin trekking towards the Marchoi meadow to ultimately reach Lashnai Lake. It will be a long, tiring yet equally fascinating and thrilling trek. You will find yourself traversing through the wilderness and admiring the beautiful colors of nature. It will take as much as 6 hours for you to reach the Lashnai lake campsite which is situated at a height of 13415 ft. You will spend the rest of your day there and camp beside the lake for the night. The next day, you may explore the areas around the lake and take up short hiking tours as well after which, you will begin to descend towards the Pokhri meadow lying at 960 ft of height. The downward trek will be equally long and tiring and so Pokhri meadow will be the campsite for the overnight stay on the 3rd day of your trip. On the fourth and the last day, you will trek further down, towards the Naranag village to make the end meet the beginning and bring your trip to a full circle. You will then be driven back to the airport on the same day.

Traveling with these people is surely an insanely enthralling experience. This is my second backpacking trip with these people and the way I had imagined backpacking to be has been fulfilled by them and they have given me surely more. The best thing about travelling with these people is that you understand the true meaning of travelling and experience it very closely. You are given great freedom but at the same time taking care of. You participate in the process of backpacking. You have a trip leader with you but he acts more like a friend as the days pass by! We attended the hornbill festival and did a wonderful trek to Dzukuo valley in Nagaland with the leadership of this group. You break the boundaries of yourself when you travel like a true traveller and that is possible with these people.
