Har ki Doon trek is situated in the foothills of Garhwal Himalayas and lies in Har Ki Dun valley. It seems to be one of the most popular and wanted treks of the region in winters and summers both. Har-Ki Dun trek is accessible through the famous Govind National Park which is known for its tremendous variety of flora and fauna. The trail will cover alpine meadows, glacier basins, moraine ridges, old villages, and dense pine forests.
It is attainable through the Govinda National Park located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The Govinda National Park was established in 1990 and covers an area of about 472 km. The trek will go across the Thamsa River and you will come across different animals and birds like, Himalayan monal, black bear, barasingha, golden eagles and many more if you are lucky. The historic background of the trek makes it more exciting as it also gives you a sense of learning about history, only, you will see it with your eyes and not some book.
A lot of peaks are visible from this trek, peaks like Ruinsara, Black peak, Swargarohini, and Bandarpoonch are all visible from this trek. The ancient villages that you come across are also something you can take in a very positive light, you can learn about the history, the culture and the way of life, you can see the contrasting differences of city life with the life of these villagers which is quiet and full of simplicity, yet it never fails to charm us. The local residents of the village practice agriculture and grow crops like rajma, rice, and potato, weaving is also practiced with wool from which jackets and coats are made.
The villagers preach the Hindu deity Duryodhana who was featured in the epic of Mahabharata, Har-Ki Dun valley practices worshipping him and making itself the handful of places where Duryodhana is preached, the tradition is, however, being forgotten over time.

Har-Ki Dun Trek – Best time to travel:
It is widely toured in summer as well as winter. It is toured around the year leaving the monsoon season when this trek is not accessible. If you are looking for trekking in the snow then the months of March to April are ideal.

Har ki doon Temperature
The Best time to do Har Ki Dun Trek is from March to May. If you want to trek in the season of spring and be able to experience the rhododendrons and other flowers of the region and you can opt for the months of October and November. How to reach Har ki dun trek :
Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport to Dehradun and is easily accessible, it is just 25 km away from the city. Daily flights from New Delhi are available to this airport.
Dehradun railway station. Overnight trains that hail from Delhi are Nandadevi Express and Dehradun Express. People often prefer railways over airways because with trains you get to see the landscape in its full glory, it is also cheaper and you will definitely enjoy your way till Dehradun.

Har Ki Dun – Women Only Batch Itinerary
Day 1 : Reaching the base(start point) at Sankri
Note: Trekmunk arranges transport from Dehradun Railway station at 7.00 am on Day 1 of the trek. The cost of this transport (Rs.6,000 per cab) will have to be shared by trekkers. You can pay the driver directly. The cost might go up, depending on the availability and other unforeseen factors.
The nearest city to Sankri is Dehradun which is a 10-hour drive till Sankri. You can reach Dehradun the earliest at 6:30 through train on the Dehradun Railway Station in the morning. You could also book an overnight bus/taxi from Delhi to Dehradun ISBT if you want to travel on the road.
You will pass many beautiful towns of Mussoorie on to Uttarkashi, you cross Naugaon, Mori, Purola, and Netwar and then you finally reach the very first destination of your trek. The roadways are opted by many tourists since the scenic view which runs past your eyes are not to be missed when traveling to Dehradun, the dense pine forests on either side of the road makes gives your journey a film like appeal, soon your journey will run parallel to rivers which makes you feel like you’re in a movie.
A brief halt is taken to have delicious lunch on your way to Sankri, you can choose from a wide variety of places, restaurants, cafes or dhabas, all kinds of places are available. While reaching Purola you should make sure you’ve attended to all the important calls and internet related work, because once you move on from Purola, you will only find BSNL network, so if you are not a BSNL user, it will be a total internet and call detox for you.
Only a few miles from reaching Sankri, you will come across a checkpoint near the Govind National Park around 6 to 7 pm, which will mean you have reached your destination. Once you reach Sankri you will get a chance to energize yourself, taking a refreshing break in the guest house, you will get an opportunity to explore the local market and you can buy any last-minute items which you missed while packing like poncho, socks, caps, gloves or other items like toiletries.
Day 2 : Drive from Sankri to Taluka. Trek from Taluka to Gangaad/Chilurgad
On this day, you start from Sankri to Taluka around 7 in the morning. It is a short drive through forests which gradually thicken and many freshwater streams cutting paths through rocks, this will introduce you to your trekking terrain which will be mostly rock, with forests along the way and small streams accompanying you through the trail.
After reaching Taluka you will come across a small village settlement where you can take a short break, have some refreshments before getting on with your big journey to Har ki dun.
The trek begins with a descent to the bank of Tons, the river will accompany you to the right, soon the trails will change its terrain and you will find yourself entering a canopy of conifer forest followed by a bridge built of cement which you will easily be able to spot in the wilderness.
After crossing the bridge, you will head on to find a wooden bridge where a smooth slope will take you down the water. People who’ve already emptied their water bottles can refill this freshwater, but it is always better to use a purifier or filter of some sort. The scenery around the trail from here is worth capturing on your camera, the shade and lighting are perfect for a swooning shot of the massif. The trek is full of flowers like irises, roses, bamboo, chestnut, cedar (deodar) trees.
By lunchtime you will be halting at the edge of Supin Tributary, a small food shack can be seen from here, these shacks are common throughout the trek, people tend to eat and drink tea/coffee a lot, these shacks can also provide you with bottled water. If you want to eat something other than the packed lunch you can taste the local dishes and snacks available here, you can also buy some for the way ahead.
On your way forward there are wide agricultural fields filled with crops such as millet, potato, and maize and it seems like you are on a much lower terrain.
You will see a green clearing at the end of river Supin which is without a doubt Pauni Garaat your base camp for the night, the best time to arrive is during dusk, when the sun is low and the colours of the sky is mild, you can then take out your cameras and capture nature’s magic.
The usual trek will take you to the Village of Sankri, Osla and Gangad, these villages are very old almost about 300 years old, from here the trek moves on to Bhida Ka Thach from Taluka. The trail will next descend on to the river valley of Thamsa and you will continue to a forest and the river Thamsa will be your constant companion. There is a long slope which ends to a level walk followed by a wooden bridge, you will also find a drinking water spot here, so don’t forget to fill your bottles.
Move on with the trail and after 15 to 20 minutes you will see a clearing, here emergency camp can be set in case you want to halt for the night or for a few hours rest.
Next stop is Dhatmir village which you will pass on in the trail moving on towards Gangaad which is a 30 to 4- minute trek from Puani Graat. You will find a dhaba on the way where you can eat or pack food for later.
Osla village has a famous Someshwar temple whose architecture is one to admire. The villagers are extremely proud of the temple and worship it with love and devotion.
Day 3 : Trek from Gangaad/Chillurgad to Simatara
The distance of the trek is about 7 km which is covered in 7 hours so it is better to start the trek in the early morning. You will cross at least 3 hydroelectric run chafing units which are widely used by the villagers for separating millet, maize followed by grounding to flour. The trek proceeds through harvest lands, cattle grazing and slant roofed huts used as storages.
As you ascend higher you will start to see beautiful Himlayan ranges which are lit with the rays of the sun, the view is breathtaking. Here you will find yourself standing in Simatra when you will camp for the night.
As you put tents to make sure they are sturdy, properly assembled and will not fall if strong gushes of wind started blowing. A temporary bathroom is set and food is also heated out on a stove. The night sky from here is something you will cherish forever, with beautiful stars visible away from pollution and dust which would otherwise fill the sky with smoke.
It is a great opportunity to practice astrophotography and capture the stars when they are at their best. You can also get up early in the morning to click mesmerizing photos of the sunrise.
Day 4 : Trek from Simatara campsite to Har ki Dun Valley and back to campsite.
This is the day all of your hard work adds up to reaching the destination. The trek is filled with alpine meadows, glaciers, and views that will leave you spellbound. The forests on the way are covered with overshadowing pine trees which will go on for a while.
The ascent and descent are mixed up here, you will find an irregularity in slopes and therefore need to have all the stamina and energy to catch up with time and finally reach Har Ki Dun. During winters the trek can be seen covered in deep snow. Once you reach the higher ground you will begin to see patches of a frozen waterfall. The peaks of Swargarohini, Black Peak, Hata Peak, etc are visible from this point and beautifully emerge from all the directions and the light of the sun plays with the peak’s natural carvings. The valley has it all, meadows, coniferous forests, glacier moraines and Himalayan peaks surrounding this small haven.

Day 5 : Trek from Simatara to Gangaad/Chillurgad
Today’s trek will take you through ancient Indian Villages who have been withstanding time and people for centuries. The forests thick with chir pine and needle pine along with ferns filling the way and trees with small flowers, beautify the way along the trail. trail. If you look towards your side, you will see trekkers traveling towards Har Ki Dun as the trails to go up and come back down run parallel to each other.
Both of these trails have a common mid-point, the Seema bridge which brings you back on the route to Chilurgaad which is just 2 km away from the bridge, from there you descend further and reach Gangaad village, which will be your campsite for the night. The village will give you an opportunity to mingle with the local people residing there for generations who have been a guiding hand to many trekkers, you can learn about the culture, the food and the lifestyle of these people and how their traditions have shaped them over the years. You can visit the temples to get a sense of spiritual healing and get your blessing from the deities these people believe in so much. Remember to draw a line somewhere and don’t be too intruding, be very respectful and humble while speaking to them, because if they get offended by you it could be a problem for all the trekkers who ever set foot. You are on their soil, sharing their food, be thankful to them.
Day 6 : Trek from Gangaad/Chillurgad to Taluka, Drive to Sankri
The trek will mostly be full of gradual descends as you move towards Taluka, be careful because the mountains can be slippery when climbing down and you don’t want to hurt yourself, better safe than sorry. You should use the help of a trekking pole for better support. We strictly advise our trekkers to carry a trekking pole. Carrying a trekking pole does not, in any case, mean that you are not fit enough. It makes the trek easier and safer for you.
Once you bid farewell to the friendly villagers of Gungaad you start your trek to Taluka, the route is exactly the same as when you ascended the slope. If you maintain an average pace you will reach Taluka within 3 to 4 hours and once you reach Taluka you will take a taxi from Taluka to Sankri because the road is motorable and well-maintained roadways is preferred, it will also save time and you reach Taluka around 3 to 3:30 in the afternoon. You can then go for a shopping spree and buy local goods like Wool, Honey, Herbs, Organic Rajma, Rice etcetera. Other than that, handmade goodies are a good option to buy in the form of souvenirs and can later be used as gifts or you could simply take one for yourself to remind you of this pleasant journey.
You will then stay the night at Sankri in a guest house and gave a good rest as next you will have to head on to Dehradun and then head back to your home, you can take a refreshing bath and have the local tea along with some snacks, those who want to spend more time enjoying their stay can have a short walk in the local market at night, when everything looks ten times brighter and charming. Day 7 : Depart back ( End Point ) to your cities
So the next day you will start early if you want to reach Dehradun on time, it is advisable to not book tickets for departure in advance because you may never know if a road gets blocked on the way to Dehradun, so keep in mind that you can book a guest house for the night so then you can go in peace the next day.
However, once you start from Sankri it is a long 10-hour drive to Dehradun and breakfast and lunch served on the way, you can choose from a dhaba to a restaurant to a café, all are available. If the journey goes on the time you will reach Dehradun at sharp 6 in the evening and can then board your train or plane. But in case you’ve been cautious and are spending the night in Dehradun, this can be a great chance for you to explore the place, the people, the culture and the market all is wonderful here, you can do loads of shopping or simply just roam around in the nice weather, all in all you will remember this trip for the rest of your life, that’s how good it’ll be.

We can arrange a cab for you according to your requirements but you will be liable to pay for the same. Any expenses occurred during the journey are not included in the package cost.
- Personal Trekking Equipment: Your Rucksack, personal clothing, shoes, trek poles, and other personal trekking gear is not included in this Har-ki dun trek package. You have to bring your own gear according to that weather and difficulty of the Har-ki dun trek.
- Portage of Personal Bags(Offloading): We highly advise you to carry your own burden (your rucksack) but due to any reason if you wish to not carry your rucksack, we can arrange for a porter/mule to carry it. For this service, you will be charged over and above the trek cost. The charges for offloading vary with every trek.
- Travel Insurance: Travel Insurance is not included in this package. We recommend you to have travel insurance before opting for such adventures.

1. When is the best time to go to for Har ki dun trek?
Har Ki Dun Trek should be traversed in the months of March and May which are the Spring months of the region. During this time the flowers are in full bloom and rhododendrons cover the trail with their beautiful and charming colours. If you look from afar, it seems as if there is a blanket of scarlet rhododendrons covering wide areas and it makes your trek more fun and brighter. Other than that, the weather is also comparatively less cold and you can easily survive the night temperatures without struggling too much.
2. How difficult is Har ki dun trek?
Har-ki dun Trek is a grade easy to moderate trek, so it means that you can easily perform this trek if you start preparing for 2 to 3 months prior to the trek. The level indicates that ascends and descends are not that steep and can be done with ease and balancing your body. Har-ki dun Trek is traversable all throughout the year leaving the monsoons when the terrain becomes extremely difficult and risky to scale. You can even opt for snow trekking from March to April. 7. What things we need to carry? What type of food is served during this trek?
The Har ki dun Trek is of 7 days, do you need to pack your clothes accordingly. Other than that, basic survival kit would include, a first aid kit, flashlights, head torch, extra layers, 2 to 3 pairs of socks, water bottle, toiletries, slippers. At Trekmunk, we only serve vegetarian food between a number of meals. The day starts with a bed lemon ginger tea, followed by a hearty breakfast. Lunch is served after you reach the next campsite or is packed to consume en-route if the trail is long for that particular day. Har-ki Dun trek has booking available at most 4 to 5 months before the departure date so firstly you should make sure that you book your trek 2 to 3 months prior to the date, 2 to 3 weeks before is the maximum time you get to book, if seats are available at all. 9. Will backpacks, raincoats and other equipment be available for rent?
If you are a first-time trekker, renting things might be a good option as you might or might not use them again in the future. However, if you are a frequent trekker, you should form a gear kit of your own. We at Trekmunk rent out ponchos and trekking poles. 10. Is this trek good for a first timer?
Because Har-ki dun is a grade easy to moderate trek, you can easily go for this trek as a first-timer, there is little chance that you won’t be able to do this trek, that is if you are not physically and mentally fit for this trek. Do not take a hasty decision just because the location is pretty or convenient for you, you should put your health first, and there are numerous other treks that are designed for first-timers as well. However, with a 2 to 3 month fitness routine, you can easily prepare yourself to scale this trek and it should be a great experience after all!
11. Who will be there with us on the trek?
On the Har-ki dun Trek, you will be accompanied by various people other than your group mates who have come from different places for this trek. Usually, you will have a guide who is aware of the whole route and with whom you will never get lost even during the night. There will be a cook who will ensure your stomach is well fed at all times. There will be porters and if you wish to hire a porter personally for yourself then he can also join the group. There are also mules that will accompany you, they often carry bulky luggage like tents, utensils, etc, the animals depend on the region you are trekking.
12. What are the washroom/toilet facilities like ?
This Har-ki dun Trek like all the other treks will be a pooping adventure if not anything else. A toilet tent is set out in the open apart from the campsite. A hole will be dug in the ground for you to do your business. Make sure you cover it up nicely with loose mud once you are done. Cleanliness and hygiene are definitely maintained and it is totally safe to use temporary toilets.
13. What are the interesting places to visit if I have time before or after the trek?
The base camp, i.e. Sankri, has a variety of things to do, you can visit the Old Village temple, do yoga classes, try out the herbal tea which is very popular in the area, have a small picnic at the place, or just simply stroll in the village, another popular thing which many tourists do is get snapshots of them wearing the local traditional clothes of the village, it is a memory you will cherish forever! You can always shop for souvenirs and little handicrafts to take back home and bring a little bit of Sankri with you.
14. How to get safe drinking water on trek?
Usually, you will find water taps or clean water streams that carries pure water from the glaciers from where you can refill your water from time to time. But it is advised to carry at least 2 liters of water with you before starting from basecamps and you should keep sipping water after intervals to stay hydrated. Along with this, you should try to get a water purifier with you so then even if the water from the stream is contaminated with bacteria which isn’t that harmful, you can still get rid of however much the purifier. Also keep in mind that the water will not taste like your normal RO water or tap water at home, especially when you use the purifier, it will change the taste of water, so be mentally prepared for how the water is going to be like.
15. Which type of shoes should I buy for this trek?
The type of shoes necessary for the trek depends on what kind of protection you are looking for. You need to look at the padding the ankle protection, insulation, rubber protection, strength and stitches, size and fitting as well. Ankle type is low rise, mid-rise and high rise you can choose from a variety of brands like the North Face, Merrell, Forclaz and other brands that are exclusively making shoes for trekking. Typically, you should opt for a high ankle, waterproof pair.
16. Is the trekking pole necessary?
For this Har-ki dun Trek you will be needing a trekking pole as this trek is known for its steep slopes and climbs, where you will definitely need external support to preserve your energy and also give you a boost of energy to climb the mountain top. You can definitely do the trek without a pole if you want, but it is advisable to not put too much pressure on your body so that you don’t injure yourself or slip away. Also, you can use the pole only when you need it and not all the time. You can hire a trekking pole at the base camp.
17. What is the Starting and ending point of the trek? How to reach the base camp of this trek?
The start point of Har ki doon Trek is Sankri and the ending point is the Har Ki Doon Peak itself. To reach the base camp you either get to the airport Jolly Grant Airport or the Dehradun Railway Station, from here take a taxi/cab to Sankri. You can also arrange small buses if you are a considerable group of people. There shouldn’t be much problem in reaching as this is a very popular trek and more or less everyone knows about where to drop tourists and where Sankri is.
18. Can I take my child along on this trek? What is the minimum and maximum age limit?
As far as Har-ki dun trek is considered, yes you can take children, but the minimum age for this trek is 8. Also you need to be responsible and make sure your child is ready for the trek, because this is not an easy trek you should make sure your child is healthy and fit and will be able to take the weather changes and climb difficult slopes, you can always hire a porter so that there is someone who has constantly eyes fixed on your child and is safe throughout the trek.
19. When it gets really cold can I consume alcohol?
Har-ki dun trek says a big no to alcohol, many believe that drinking alcohol keeps your body warm. But, no matter how cold you feel, it is not advisable to consume alcohol at high altitudes at all, it can cause AMS which is very much fatal and you will thereby be risking your life. You can also get Hypothermia. Alcohol increases the rate of adrenalin which causes the veins to dilate, this makes blood flow to the surface of the skin and you feel warm outside but the inner body temperature decreases. So, the only dink you should focus on is water, and drink plenty of it too.
20. What kind of Tents and Sleeping bags are provided to us on trek?
The tents and sleeping bags are always according to the weather, season and altitude of your trek, so the protection of your sleeping bags will be according to the varying temperatures it can withstand. The equipment is provided by us and the tents and sleeping bags are hygienic and can be used without any hesitation, if you wish to carry your own sleeping bags you are free to do so. The tents used currently during trekking are Coleman, Husky and Vango tents which are 5000mm waterproof and according to the season and weather the tents are chosen for a particular trek.
21. Can I leave traveling clothes in basecamp behind and collect them after the trek?
You may leave your extra luggage or the luggage you do not intend to carry with you on the trip to the peak at your hotel. The luggage is kept in a cloakroom where everybody leaves their luggage, there is very limited access to this room so your luggage is definitely safe. Some hotels keep it free of charge and some keep your luggage at a small fee, but either way, you can have assurity that your stuff is completely safe with the hotel authorities.
22. Do I have to carry any documents with me?
There are always permits which are required at the first checkpoint of the trek, which will also require you to prove your identity and nationality. If you are an international tourists other than the documents mentioned here be sure to carry your passport and visa documents at all times. Other than this it is pretty clear that all travellers need an identity proof for sure, medical certificate, disclaimer, personal documents and mischief managed. Other than that, if you have any other document which you think could be handy for your identification process then bring it along. You may need a permit to cross the Govind National Park.
23. Would we be able to expect rain during the trek to this trek? What will we do if it rains?
Since the har-ki dun trek is at a high altitude, therefore you can never expect weather to be predictable, it changes like the skin of a chameleon and you should be fully prepared and equipped for rains. If it rains you can easily get one thing straight which is to keep yourself and your gear protected, the best solution would be a poncho or raincoat with an additional rain cover for your backpack, other than that tents always tend to be strong and can withstand heavy rains and storms, so don’t worry about that.
24. Is there a doctor going with us on the trek?
On Har Ki Dun trek our staff of a trek leader, a guide, kitchen staff and porters will be accompanying you, but no certified doctor accompanies you on the trek, however, the trek leaders are well aware of the conditions of people and what medication they might need at a time of distress or an injury. Our trek leaders are fully equipped and trained to handle any medical emergency and hence, you can always rely on the trek leaders.
25. Do we get mobile network on the trek?
The Trek as you know is located in the state of Uttarakhand, which has very few areas where people have settled in huge colonies, therefore it is not possible to find mobile network anywhere and everywhere. There are specific locations where you will get towers, usually places habited by people, so if you are in a remote location, there is a possibility for signal, but keep in mind that because these are remote location, BSNL which is a huge Indian telecommunications company is what works best in remote location, this is what they are known for, so you can either buy this sim or wait for a better location.
26. Are smoking and drinking allowed ?
Smoking or drinking is not at all allowed in any trek. Alcohol consumption is strictly banned as it can cause dehydration that can further lead to AMS. Trekking is about letting your mind clear out from the city life and your monotonous life back at home. Such recreational methods are not allowed in the trek. Also, you should never in any way try to harm the environment of these pure untouched places, you can’t pollute the air or intoxicate yourself, it is totally against the rules. So please keep this in mind. Also, you may think that drinking and smoking warm up your body but it the exact opposite and it will instead harm your body and mind, so refrain from using these things.
27. Is diamox advisable?
During the Trek there is a chance that you could suffer from Altitude Mountain Sickness, so to prevent then people often take Diamox (Acetazolamide) to prevent and reduce symptoms of AMS like headache, nausea, shortness of breath and dizziness. Other than that, if you naturally want to avoid AMS then you should trek very slowly and giving your body the time to acclimatize. But, consult your trek leader and your doctor before making a decision. They are the only 2 best people who can suggest to you whether or not to do a course on Diamox.
28. How big are the groups?
At Trekmunk, we take a maximum of 16 trekkers in a batch. It is usually preferred if the trekking groups are smaller, there are multiple reasons for it, like with smaller groups you have a better understanding of each other and get to know each other better, then it is also safer with smaller groups as if you have 2 trek guides, then each one can be assigned to a handful of people to be responsible for and take care of them throughout the journey. Smaller groups are also easy to handle, like the villagers can take care of you better, 16 people can be taken care of with ease but 25 people is a big number for the villagers, plus bigger the number of your group more chances of harm to the environment,
29. Is it safe for female solo travellers to go in a fixed departure group with Trekmunk?
During trek women safety is a very important issue we take in hand, we make sure that women participating in the trek are comfortable and safe at all times. Women are also provided separate tents and washrooms. We respect women and understand it is very difficult to step out solo without feeling skeptical about your safety but rest assured, we take full responsibility and care of women travelers and you are safe with us.
30. What things do we need to carry?
You can make a list of things necessary to bring for this trek. Some of the most important things are clothes, layers, socks, gloves, cap, sunscreen, sunglasses, torch, flip flops, toiletries, then a wholesome first aid kit which will come in handy with some basic medicines like combiflam, disprin etc., bring snacks like chocolate and nuts to nibble on throughout the trek, bring a water bottle, so that you don’t always have to buy a plastic bottle and litter the valley. 31. I can’t carry my bag can anyone carry it for me ( Portrage/Offloading of bags?)
Though we prefer you carry your own bags, if you wish to offload your bags, just inform us and we can arrange it for you. The porter will easily be able to get you through the journey. The sole purpose of a porter is to guide and help you. Hiring a porter is advisable if you will be needing help carrying your baggage, or are planning to carry extra baggage.
32. How many trekkers will be in one tent?
The maximum capacity of a tent is 2 people. We tend to have 2 people sharing tents that are practical and give proper spacing. 3 people in a tent can make it crowded and hence make you irritated the next day which is something that will hinder your trek.
33. Do you think I should bring some medicines with me?
A first aid kit is a must, but if you are suffering from problems or have to regularly take medicines, then surely you should bring them with you. Other than that, whatever medicines you feel are necessary and might come to use during emergency or sickness should be kept in your first aid kit. Medicines like Paracetamol, Disprin, Crocin, Diamox, Avil, Combiflam, Norflox, Crepe Bandage, Digene etcetera are the basic medicines that everyone should have in their backpacks. You should also carry packets of ORS because many people get dehydrated and need salts to normalize their bodies, so keep it on your kit as well.
34. Can we change the itinerary? Can we customize the trek?
The Har-ki dun Tek has a customizable option provided by trekmunk. Usually, there are two types of treks fixed and customizable. If you are a group of people looking for specifications in your trek then we have the option for it.
35. What is AMS? How to prevent it?
In case you get AMS, don’t worry or panic during this trek, as these will not help you or your health. AMS is acute Mountain Sickness which occurs to people when they are at high altitudes and their body hasn’t properly acclimatized to the conditions. Symptoms are fatigue, headache, dizziness, loss of breath, loss of appetite, disturbed sleep and nausea. How to prevent: You should sleep when it\'s time to sleep, should not attempt to climb if you are feeling physically weak, if you don’t acclimate properly to the altitude then you can get AMS, you should make sure you have enough layers to keep yourself warm, have hot drinks like ginger tea, hot cocoa etc and take medicines only when it\'s necessary and you know about the medicine.
