What are the tips before going to the Kalavantin Durg Trek?

Published On 16 May 2020 by Harshit Patel

Next to Prabalgarh Fort, the Kalavantin Durg Trek is one of the best one-day treks near Mumbai. This trek could easily be spotted from Panvel. A few tips to keep in mind are as follows:

  • Avoid monsoon season while trekking to this place. The surface gets muddy and slippery which increases the risk factor. The best time to visit is from October to May.
  • The wind is very strong at higher altitudes. It is advised to strengthen the grip on the rocks.
  • Accommodation is easily available for trekkers in the nearby Prabalmachi Village. You could also ask your tour operator to arrange your stay.
  • The trek includes the stairway carved into the mountains in a zigzag manner. People with vertigo are advised not to go to this trek.
