Is it possible to do Santopanth lake trek without a guide, and be able to obtain an inner line permit without a guide for a trek of two?

Published On 01 Mar 2020 by Oshank Soni

You need either a guide or an experienced porter to get the inner line permit. You won?t be provided with the permit if you don?t have any one of them. There are no night stay places, so a tent, stove, food, and mattresses are needed. The trek route is a bit tough and only experienced trekkers should undertake it. En route, the Dhano Glacier has to be crossed and en route Chakratirth one sharp ridge has to be crossed. If you even somehow manage without a guide or porter, since the bridge on the river Alaknanda is broken from the flood, you might face difficulties crossing it without them since they know alternative routes.
