I recently went for easy trekking, but I had to stop a lot due to heavy breathing and lack of stamina. What can I do to overcome this problem?

A good fitness level is a prerequisite for any of the Himalayan treks. The necessity of a good amount of stamina, and a healthy body, both physically and mentally, cannot be overlooked. Thus, good physical strength is a must. So, if you are a beginner and do not belong to the athletic background or extremely good, routined fitness level then it may happen that can?t complete the trek due to lack of stamina. So, it is advisable that you do basic exercise and keep your body in a good frame, a month prior to the start of the next treks. Good stamina is a must for any trek. If you are a beginner, we would suggest increasing your stamina by walking at least 7 to 10 kilometers daily for 1 month prior to the start of the trek. If you suffer from breathing problems, then you must see a doctor and note down his advice.
