Valparai is a hill station located in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, India. Valparai is at a distance of 64 kilometers from Pollachi. The road from Pollachi to Valparai has 40 hairpin bends. It takes about 2 hours to reach Valparai from Pollachi on State Highway 78. The entire area is surrounded by evergreen forests loaded with lakes, waterfalls, mountain peaks, and lush green valleys. It is famous for Anamalai Tiger Reserve also known as Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park. The sanctuary is filled with various fauna like the green pigeon, pangolin, sloth bear, panther, elephant, tiger, gaur, deer, etc. You can also visit Monkey falls, Aliyar dam, Nirar Dam, Loms View, Birla falls, Manampalli forest, Grass Hills, Athirapally falls, Nallamudi- Pooncholai, Balaji temple, and Sithi Vinayagar Temple.
