The next step is the trek from Balu ka Ghera to Siagoru, crossing Hampta Pass. This is the coldest place of the trek. This place is devoid of flowing water. Initially, the ascent is gradual but then there is a steep climb till the pass. You can witness the sublime Indrasan peak and the sonorous Lahaul valley from here. The likes of intriguing peaks such as Deo Tibba and Peak 5260 will also surround you at some point of the trail. The last step is the visit from Hampta Pass to Chandratal lake. Chandratal lake is a well known high altitude alpine lake which can be reached after a few hours of trek from Chatru. Chatru is around 5 hours of downhill trek from Siagoru. The trail is along the side of the river valley amidst mountain ranges. Chatru is barren land with no accumulation of vegetation. The route is slippery which demands sure footing and mindful navigation. The descent is very tough and the route is meandering. It is better to climb down with the help of ropes and supports.
