Highlights

  • History of Sikkim Over the centuries, the territory was lost to the Bhutanese, the Nepalese and the British.
  • Sikkim is the topmost tours & travel destination in India. It is one of the most politically stable and peaceful places in India.

Overview

There is something dreamy about waking up in the shadow of the massive Kangchendzonga, something peaceful about the hymns in the monasteries, something exciting in walking over frozen lakes, something refreshing about walking beside the fringes of Rhododendron trees, something exquisite about breathing in the fragrance of over thousand different species of flowers and something very special about Sikkim. The state has equal doses of adventure and serenity; pump up your adrenaline as you trek, paraglide, river raft and ride bicycles on these insane slopes or soothe your soul as you take a dip in the hot springs, enjoy the views of numerous lakes and admire at the burst of color. Camp outdoors with chilled Thumba ( local beer of Sikkim) as you try to spot constellations in the crystal night. Towards the end of the trip, you will find yourself sitting by the wishing lake as the sun will leave its last coat of orange on the waters, the silence will be overpowering and mesmerizing, you will wish that this peaceful moment lasts forever.

Brief Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary

If you are looking for an itinerary, don’t call yourself a backpacker.

A backpacker doesn’t have a fix itinerary, he creates it on the go listening to his gut instinct and with Insane Traveller, instinct is what fuels our heart, mind and body.

An itinerary only restricts a traveller from exploring new, less commercial and off-beat places that are not marked on any map.

To add even more spice to the adventure, we recommend you to *NOT* look at pictures or read about what to see on the internet. Don’t prepare your eyes and soul for the breath-taking beauty as it will just tone-down the curiosity. Expect the unexpected and let your mind blow at every turn.

You don’t have to have a check-list. Exploring is not about covering all the places but feeling the adrenaline in real time, feeling your heart beat faster as you venture out to LIVE and not just EXIST.

Leave the tourist in you behind, carry the traveller in you forward.

If you are still looking for an itinerary, you can close this window and search for a travel agent. He will provide you what you are looking for.

Our 7 days trip to Meghalaya was a truly memorable experience. Thank you Trekmunk for arranging such an adventurous backpacking trip and a special thanks to Mohit Goswami our trip leader for giving us an experience of what true travelling is. From hitchhiking to traversing the unknown places to eating delicious Momo's to climbing 3000 steps, we did it all in those 7 days which came to end so quickly and none of us wanted to go back home. Such an experience where you just pick up your rucksacks and walk down the roads of a traveller could have been only possible because of Trekmunk!

Hampta Pass Trek

I chose (after a lot of research) Trekmunk for my first trek - The Hampta Pass and Chandratal Trek. And I am so really glad I did so. The trekker needs to only focus on the trek and the beautiful landscape around him/her. The rest of everything is taken care of by Trekmunk from day 1 till the end of the trek. Scrupulously managed logistics; no compromise on safety and security; experienced, intelligent and knowledgeable trek leaders; scrumptious meals; contingency and backup plans; etc. make Trekmunk an ideal choice to go trekking with. My trek was lead by Ashish Pathania, Prashant Reddy and Sanjay Thakur. The three are were thorough professionals. They were jolly, very helpful, experienced, knowledgeable, organized, and needless to say polite yet strict when needed. They played the most important roles in making sure our overall trekking experience was a wonderful one. Thank you Trekmunk for one of the most beautiful experiences I have had till date. Will see you guys soon.

Sandakphu Trek

I had an amazing trek with Trekmunk to Sandakphu November and December 2019. From the first moment of inquiry about the trek and all my questions were answered clearly and on time thanks to Dheeraj who managed to facilitate the trek quite well with his communication. Our guide Arpan was very experienced, calm, patient and very helpful to each trekker's needs in the group. He facilitated to find and hire a porter for me once I needed one although we were in the middle of the trail. He also arranged emergency transportation when I had to cut the trek and go back home for an urgent matter. I really enjoyed their service and I would like to repeat the same trek or try other treks with them again.
