Overview

Khemsar Yemsar lake

Gen Z may be living in what can be called a world of technologies where everything is machinery and requires minimal effort, saving us a lot of time and energy. Yet, somehow despite living in a digital era, all of us find ourselves in the middle of a vicious loop of hustles. Most times we end up spending our days without having enjoyed a single activity for the sheer pleasure that it brings to us. In fact, so many of us cannot seem to spare any time at all for the things that we love to do which is quite off-putting and disastrous. It is important to pause for a minute and introspect; do you want to "live" this one life that you have got? Or do you want to "spend" your days in vain until you finally die one fine day? There is an explicit difference between living life and spending life, it is important for us to understand that although hustle is important for us to survive in this world, "surviving" is not the only purpose of our lives.

There is a whole lot of ethereal beauty to be explored and enjoyed in the world. As humans, our hobbies can be different but spending some quality time in the realm of nature is something that refreshes each one of us and soothes us from within. That is probably why most of us seek comfort in escaping into nature. And when Mr. Keating from the Dead Poets Society said that "We are members of the human race and the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for". He must have definitely mistakenly omitted "travelling" from his last sentence. Indeed, it is travelling that refills our soul with energy and patience, it is travelling that gives us the wisdom to traverse through life, it is traveling that awards us exceptional chances to introspect and know ourselves and thus, travelling is certainly what we stay alive for.

Kashmir is a devastatingly beautiful state that can be a one-stop solution for all your tour plans. From its mischievous winds, giant majestic mountains, rushing rivers and streams to the beautiful pristine lakes, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is truly a delicately crafted heaven on earth. The beauty and piousness of the state simply outshine everything in the country. And so if you have been looking for a break from your daily hustle, it is about time to finally grab one and run away into the wilderness. There are peace and sanity waiting to greet you with open arms deep in the midst of a valley in the Ganderbal district of the State of Jammu and Kashmir - buckle up.

The Khemsar Yemsar trek is a rich, short yet wholesome tour package brought to you by Trekmunk that has been wisely crafted to give you a beautiful and overwhelming experience. Grasp a sneak peek into the lives of mountaineers, stretch your arms to a beautiful sunrise in the mountains, spend an evening beside the mesmerizing inky blue lakes; the Khemsar and Yemsar lake respectively - all while enjoying a nice breezy complementing weather. The Khemsar Yemsar Trek draws a fine balance between adventure and rest; it is a short trek suitable for any averagely fit person. As soon as you reach the Sheikh-Ul-Alam International airport at Srinagar, members of our team will greet and escort you to the respective vehicles that will drive you to the Kulan village of the Ganderbal district. It is located approximately at a distance of 35 km from the airport and can be reached in three hours of swift driving. The sceneries on your way to the Kulan village are absolutely bewitching and enthralling. Soak in the beauty of the pious nature that Kashmir is, admire the mighty peaks from the window of your vehicle, watch rivers accompany you on your way to the campsite, and dwell in that magical experience of traveling in Kashmir. As you admire and appreciate the divine and delightful nature before you while being driven to the village, you will soon find yourself at the campsite in Kulan. Kulan has nestled not very far away into the wilderness but serves as a campsite for the expeditions that aim to traverse deep into the mountains. After a while of rest, you will ascend to the Khemsar meadow on the same day. It will be a short climb uphill after which you will wrap up for the day. The second day will be a fine trek into the woods, up to the Khemsar and Yemsar Lakes. Enjoy the ultimate destination of your trek with all your heart, spend some quality time soaking in the water, and experience an exquisite and thrilling night by the lakes. The third day will mark the last day of the trek. You will wake up to a beautiful sunrise in the mountains, enjoy while you are at it, and shortly buckle up to descend to Kulan. It will be a five-hour-long trek downwards. Enjoy retracing the journey backward and return to the village with exciting and happening memories of the trip. You will return to Kulan to find your vehicle ready to drive you back to the airport. Rest for a while and pack up to be driven back and to bring your trip to a successful end.

Traveling with these people is surely an insanely enthralling experience. This is my second backpacking trip with these people and the way I had imagined backpacking to be has been fulfilled by them and they have given me surely more. The best thing about travelling with these people is that you understand the true meaning of travelling and experience it very closely. You are given great freedom but at the same time taking care of. You participate in the process of backpacking. You have a trip leader with you but he acts more like a friend as the days pass by! We attended the hornbill festival and did a wonderful trek to Dzukuo valley in Nagaland with the leadership of this group. You break the boundaries of yourself when you travel like a true traveller and that is possible with these people.
