All about the Nagaland Backpacking.

Nagaland is no less than unravelling the secrets of a mysterious place. It is like going through the pages of a history book and discovering breathtaking and untouched beauty of the land. Wrapped in sheer serenity, this state is also called the land of the hillmen as it resides sixteen major tribes. These people have preserved their culture and legacy in a way that it kept the torch of their tribal identity lit. Ranging from their attire to their traditions to the feasts, these tribes do it the good old way topped with overwhelming hospitality towards travellers and deep compassion towards each other. Nagaland is also known as the land of festivals, and that being said, the best time to explore this state is in December, when the festivals of festivals ‘hornbill’ is celebrated. The festival is named after Hornbill, one of the most venerated bird species in the state whose importance is reflected in a number of tribal cultural expressions, songs and dances.

All your life you will always come back to one thing, your need to feel free and your need to feel the breeze, this land will provide you the freedom your gypsy soul needs, here every road is just another wild memory, a new experience to travel inside your journey, a sense of belonging to a familiar tribe, here you will form a bond that goes beyond the bloodline.

ITINERARY
Day 1: If you are looking for an itinerary, don’t call yourself a backpacker.
Day2: A backpacker doesn’t have a fix itinerary, he creates it on the go listening to his gut instinct and with Insane Traveller, instinct is what fuels our heart, mind and body.
Day3:  An itinerary only restricts a traveller from exploring new, less commercial and off-beat places which are not marked on any map.
Day4: To add even more spice to the adventure, we recommend you to *NOT* look at pictures or read about what to see on the internet. Don’t prepare your eyes and soul for the breath-taking beauty as it will just tone-down the curiosity. Expect the unexpected and let your mind blow at every turn.
Day5: You don’t have to have a check-list. Exploring is not about covering all the places but feeling the adrenaline in real time, feeling your heart beat faster as you venture out to LIVE and not just EXIST.
Day6: Leave the tourist in you behind, carry the traveller in you forward.
Day7: If you are still looking for an itinerary, you can close this window and search for a travel agent. He will provide you what you are looking for.

The land of festivals - Nagaland is worth a visit. At the time of Hornbill Festival, Kisama is one of its kind place. All the culture, diversity is just amazing. Do not miss Nagaland for anything.
